February 2011 - All that Glitters ... Part 1

When getting ready for this month's class tutorial, I had far too many ideas for one session, hence the Part 1. Will have to add Part 2 later in the year.

This time we will just concentrate on basic glittering - how to make it stick to your card. This month's project card illustrates several different ways you can add glitter to a card (1) using narrow DSST (down the sides of the heart backing paper (2)Using a quickie glue pen (around the edge of the brown striped paper) (3) Using glitter glue/stickles, around the edges of the pink/cake frame (4) Using glitter pens (like sakura) to highlight areas on the cake topper.

For the project ATC, Double sided adhesive sheet was used and careful remove of the top sheet, allowed the creation of the ray background.

If you are feeling creative, you can create an abstract pattern with the glitter and adhesive sheet.

With the quickie glue pen and glitter you can accent words - Paris on this ATC.

This card is one I created following craft club for a pink/red/white challenge on another forum - think I was influenced by craft club. Again used DSST and glitter down the sides of the backing paper. Used a quickie glue pen and glitter around the edges of the flowers in the main image. The centres of the three small flowers are glue dots covered glitter.
