January 5th 2013 - Grid Cards

Using a grid template from Make Me created a layout of several images for the front of a card.  Practise and Patience needed for this.  Used our blending mats and sponges.  Don't be afraid to repeat a panel or image with the design.

The grid layout for this card was devised by myself

December 1st - Buckle Cards

Inspired by Sue Wilson, we played with our dies and had a go at creating "Buckle" cards.

This is the club project card.
Using Decorative labels 1 and Labels 16.
This was using dark frames on a light background.

This card uses Labels 1 and Decorative Labels 1.
Light frames on a dark background.

This card used pastel card and paper.  Smaller flowers were created for embellishments.
The flowers unfortunately cover up the weaving effect of the ribbon through the "buckle".

This card was created for a Black and White Card Swap.
Classic circles and Picot Circles were the dies used.
Instead of "fish-tailing" the card ribbon, the corners were rounded to be more in-keeping with the circle theme.

A more feminine version

November 3rd - Newspapers I

Incorporating newspapers into cardmaking.

Taken some words from newspaper headlines and added them to a postcard.  The top postcard the words were added before inking. For the bottom postcards the works were added after inking.  These postcards will now act as a referrence guide for later projects.

The racing page from a newspaper was used to create the background paper.  Newspaper struck to thin white paper using spray glue and then cut to size.  Random stamping of large crackle/marble in brown and then edged in green distress ink.

Using a round stamp and circle dies created a "finishing" post.

Used a Spanish newspaper to create the background, the dress and fan (paper piecing)

October 13th - Stamp Stamps

Playing with Stamp Stamps and Postage Stamp Stamps.

This month's project card

The Pears on a branch is a stamp from Clarity Stamp.  The Stamp stamp is from Dimension Stamps.  The background paper was created by stamping with a pear silhouette stamp from The Stamp Man and a sprig stamp from Clarity Stamp.  Only one of the images has been coloured, and the pears have been covered with Glossy Accents.

September 29th - Brayering

Further practice with our brayers and this time with Versamark - pads and pens.

In this one we used the Versamark pen to create snow.  We also practiced used the Versamark pad and stamps for a resist technique

In this one we use cotton wool and the Versamark pad to create clouds.
